SI Global Partners (“SIGP”) was engaged by attorneys representing an international conglomerate whose subsidiaries had been designated to the US Department of Treasury’s OFAC SDN List.
SIGP conducted an independent and thorough investigation of the facts underlying the listing as well as a full internal investigation of the corporate structure of the subsidiaries. The investigation spanned multiple countries and jurisdictions in Central America, Western and Eastern Europe, and North America.
SIGP applied substantial investigative resources globally to conduct scores of on-site interviews in multiple languages; comprehensive document collection, organization and review; and the secure collection, transfer and examination of over 7TB of electronically stored data. SIGP prepared and submitted a detailed and unbiased report of our findings.
The client requested SIGP to submit its report to the US Department of Treasury and US Department of State in support of the client’s delisting application and authorized SIGP to present its findings to government officials in person. Shortly thereafter, the US Department of Treasury approved a full operating license for the client’s subsidiaries. Noting SIGP’s report for its objectivity and thoroughness, the US Department of Treasury subsequently delisted the client’s subsidiaries altogether- an exceptionally rare and positive resolution.
SI Global Partners (“SIGP”) was retained by a municipal plaintiff to investigate the systemic failure of a multinational general contractor to fulfill its contracted mandate and competently repair and replace essential city infrastructure over a five-year period. SIGP applied significant and varied investigative resources: forensic accountants to conduct detailed forensic tracing and accounting of contracts, money flows and projects; cyber specialists to efficiently and effectively secure, collect and transfer aged electronically stored data from multiple platforms; and traditional investigators to conduct targeted interviews and review voluminous documents and electronically stored data.
SIGP’s investigation was utilized by the municipal plaintiff to support a $1 billion civil complaint against the multinational contractor for negligence and corporate malfeasance.
SI Global Partners (“SIGP”) was contracted by a resort and casino to conduct a comprehensive physical security assessment of the property and operations, and thoroughly review their corporate policies and procedures. Additionally, SIGP worked closely with the client’s in-house security professionals and legal team to establish emergency threat response protocols. To prepare the client for potential crises, SIGP facilitated table-top crisis management exercises with the client’s executives and operational managers run by SIGP subject matter experts.
Our approach was detailed and comprehensive and included outreach and liaison with local and federal law enforcement authorities.
A private equity firm sought to purchase a Middle East-based company and requested detailed due diligence of the target company and its principals. SI Global Partners (“SIGP”) conducted in-depth global record and database checks in multiple jurisdictions. Our analysts identified relevant individuals and relationships and analyzed backgrounds for financial and reputational liabilities. SIGP principals engaged its unique network of trusted foreign contacts to obtain unpublished first-hand insights into the company, its principals, and their reputations.
